using HTML With The Alt Key?

when I try to do the things like I have listed on myspace it dont work...I try to press Alt + number and northing shows up! any idea why? Answer:Probably because whatever script they're running that allows you to write in text, only recognizes a narrower range of characters (just plain ascii, or "normal" alfanumerics for different langauges). There may be certain special codes you must add, as you must HTML (e.g. "&registered;" to get the circle-R for registered trademarks). Anorthere often used combination, is something between two colons (e.g. ":copyright:"). Though many such characters have names you can refer to them with, it's often also possible (like in HTML) to use a numeric-value for them.
