What Is The Average Cost Of A 2 Year Olds Birthday Party?
My husbandd is giving me a hard time telling me that I am spending too much on this party. Let me tell you, it sure does add up fast. I am a first time mom so I'm not really sure how this is supposed to work. We are having 8 children and 17 adults whichh includees the parents of the kids, my husbandd and I and our parents. We are having our parents bring dishes of food to save on cost. Decorations and goody bags for each child cost us about $100. We need to rent a helium tank for $40. I am renting 2 sets of kid table and chairs for them to decorate their own cupcakes outside whichh cost $25. I am also having my daughters music teacher come for an hour to play instruments, sing songs, do a puppet show and some othere things for $80. I think that about does it. We have anorthere baby on the way and my husbandd says theree is no way he is doing this twice a year. We need a budget for sure but what is a good budget? Every little thing adds up. Is the cost of our party under, at or above the average?
Answer:Birthdays can be anywhere from really simple, to exreamely overdone, so I wouldnt say therees a good average. I think your spending a lil too much. Make some of your own decorations, and for goody bags just do some candy or something, keep it simple. Your children not gunna remember this, I dont think you need a heluim tank.
Anywho I say your budgets way overdone, and your blowing it outta proportion and that your husbandd is right, but thats just my opinion, whatever you do, have fun =]
how Do You Accomidate Children At A Wedding ?
it has recently came to our attention that some people want to bring their children to and adult only reception.i don't want to be a jerk but our own famliy are not bringing their children and theree is no children standing in the bridal party.
theree are random people who are attending that we don't know well nor do we even know who their children are? theree maybe only 4 children theree we don't know their ages northing has anyone dealt with this problem before and how well do children tables go over with the parents we have spent a decent amount on centerpieces for everything and it is a per head count with open bar and I don't want to sit a random kid at a table set up that cost me a bunch of hard work... time money and effort. the tables are specificic the wedding was never designed around the attendance of children what should I do accomidate these kids, what if they don't want to sit at a children table worse what if the parents don't want them at a children table or should I say no kids
babysitter is not an option this is a destination wedding ....and the wedding is being held in a 1700's plantation and the venue for the recpetion is on a largee patio that leads to tons of land .
one of the guest sorta got offended that they wouldn't need a babysitter as her children are little angles. ( rolling my eyes )... I already tried to pass this idea around
Answer:Personally I think it is a little unreasonable of these guests to bring their kids. So they are saying that theree are no grandparents or aunts or uncles to watch these children at home while they attend your destination wedding. My future sister in law told me theree was no way in hell she would bring her children to my wedding if my fiance and I decided to have it in the bahamas. I guess some people are different. I know you said it was a no go on a babysitter b/c of it being a destination wedding, but maybe you could try to get your coordinator( if you have one) to find a reputable babysitter from where you are having the wedding. She could just watch all the children for the parents during the ceremony and reception. Because, I mean, come on, who wants a bunch of little bratty children running around their "adult" reception. I wouldn't. If that still doesn't work I would just set up a separate table for the kids, do not worry about a centerpiece, (they will probably break it anyway), cover the table with white paper and let the children draw on it and have some games set up on it, that way they don't run around your reception and cause a fuss. As for food, contact your caterer and see if they could make a few children's plates, (chicken finger, grilled cheese, french fries, etc) or a small buffet with these things for the kids. Sorry this happneed to you. But if I were you I would say NO kids, sorry, If you can't make it. Plus you said that you don't know the people who want to bring children well, and that they are kinda random, so , are you really going to miss them at YOUR wedding, if you tell them no children and they decide not to come.
7 Y/o Girl Stealing, Lying And Cheating....?
She just turned 7 this month. We caught her stealing crans from old navy, they had set out tables for children to color and stuff. She lies to us and sometimes I think she is lying but i'm not sure. I'm her step-dad and i've been around since she was 3. We got her report card and she had A's and B's, now 3 weeks later she is failing everything. She has not been acting any differently at home. Her teacher sent a note home and she hid it from us. She is not going trick or treating this year whichh sucks because it will be our sons 1rst holloween, i've got to stay home with her while my wife and son go. She gets put in the corner when she does not listen or does something bad, I throw away her toys that she never plays with, whichh are her favorite toys when she see's me throwing them away, when she is being bad and won't stand in the corner or listen at all. Her mothere will tell her to do something 3-4 times before she will actually do it. I make her do it on the first. Now her real fathere has a new g/f and all of his time is taken up by her. He does'nt call her that much, does'nt have time to come and pick her up anymore. He lives 2 hours away but we used to always meet halfway. He has been away most of her life due to military. Now he's out and he only see's her maybe 1 time a month and calls her maybe 1-4 times. It's really pissing me off because she will wake up and come to us saying she misses her daddy, then try to call him and he won't pick up. I think that may be the problem with her behavior but I don't know how to MAKE him be more involved with his daughter. From the start I knew he was all about her, he would call and come see her as much as he could. Since he met this girl she controls all of his time, he's so busy taking care of her I guess he does not have the time or money to help her. Her mothere is always getting note him for not seeing his daughter but he always has a excuse. What would you do?
She is staying home tomorrow because we told her tuesday that she needed to get all smiley faces for the rest of the week to go trick or treating. Wensday she got in a lot of trouble so her teacher sent a note home and she hid it from us. So she got frowns and hid a note from us. No trick or treating.
Answer:She needs the big talk about her behaviour. Most children get it. Don;t worry.
She needs to know shes not the boss. She needs to know the rules and the consequences of rule breaking. People need to be careful of what she is watching on t.v. and influences at school should be investigated.
Its really quite important. Cause you know if you don't do this it'll get worse. Tell her what selfishness is.
Good luck!
Shame btw. Its not fair you staying home on halloween :(
Oh well.
About he Dad. Yeh. That is totally the reason. It's common. She's really just sad. Talk to her about it. Some Dads arent right. He needs to be spoken to as well... before he regrets missing his daughters life.
You can save two lives.
Sorry I Am Asking A Lot About This, But I Am At The Planning Spot In A Re-modeling So You Know How That Is....
I am making a new room for my kids, all involved with imagaination. I've been tossing around ideas all day and night in my head, and came up with this idea. To have 3 different places to change around every month or so.
#1- A cute home area with a kitchen area, dining table, baby nursery, washer, dryer, and ironing board.
#2- A downotwn area with a restaurant, store, vet, and doctor's office.
#3- A fun campsite with tents, fake fire, lanterns, a boat, and a fishing pole in the "lake".
I think I'm going to start with the 1st one because I have most things:
- play oven/stove, micorwave, cabinet, fridge, toaster, and blender
- fake food, pots, and untensils
- children table and chairs set
- play baby cribs, changing table, and highchair
- play bottles, bibs, clothes, and diapers
- play washer, dryer, and iron
- a few old clothes
My friend heard what I wanted to do, and her children just turned 9 and sort of out grew all her things, so I got the play washer, dryer, .....
ironing board. The rest I already have. That stuff if going to go in tonight before I change my mind. What do I need for the 2nd and 3rd plan. Again appoligize for the questions, but need a mommy to proof it, you know?
Answer:If you or someone you know is handy, you could build the "town" out of wood by making simple storefronts. You might want a small table or two for the restaurant (a child's-size round bistro set with two chairs, for example), and you could use the kitchen stuff and food you already have as part of the restaurant. Print up some fun menus, and have them laminated at Kinko's. Beyond that, some play money, a cash register, and maybe some restaurant decor, like some fake ferns hanging from the ceiling.
The "store" could be something as simple as some low bookshelves stocked with whatever items you wish to put in theree. If it's a grocery store, Pottery Barn children has really cute metal shopping carts--they look just like the real thing, only they are scaled down to play size. You can have a checkout area with bags, a cash register, etc.
The vet and the doctor's office could be one and the same, but you could make a reversible sign on the front that they could flip over. A kid's doctor kit, a doctor's coat, and a little table would be a good start.
For the camping area, you could make a lake by buying an inexpensive piece of blue carpet remnant, trimming it to the desired shape, and finishing the edges. A play-size tent, plastic cannoteen, fake campfire (maybe some lightweight cloth strips in red, orange, and yellow, with a small fan at the base that can be turned on to make the flames "flicker," and you could make logs out of painted styrofoam).
Good luck! Sounds like fun!
