Colletcion Agency Question/Becks Creek Industries/The Law Offices Of Amy Mcdonald?

Becks Creek Industries have called my parent's house, leaving a message that I was called as a withess for the defendant of a case, for the Law Offices of Amy Mcdonald. I returned the call, was told the man was "busy in counsel" three times, when I finally could reach him turns out he was a debt colletcor, who said that they could sue me for fraud and also that this was an attemptt to colletc the debt voluntarily. Upon researching the company I have found a lot of warnings againstt them as scammers posing as lawyers. The debt is mine, however when I pulled my 3 credit reports they are not listed, the original debt was sold in May and this agency has pulled my credit both in July and after I called them in Sept. In Sept. They emailed me with Amy Mcdonald's letterhead, and below it states my debt is owed to Becks Creek Industries. I sent a DV letter, hoping to find out if this is really who owns my debt as Chase has sold it. However, no response, it was return receipt, and 3 weeks have passed. They have also called my parents again leaving messages stating that it was regarding the property at their addresss. Please could someone advise of how to deal with this, I want to settle the credit card debt if it is still in CA SOL ( 2 and a half years- however I think I may have answered questions over the phone rathere than signed, I can't remember) but need proof before I send off money to just anyone.
