How To Sell Books On Amazon.com As A Non-profit Organization And Not Have To Worry About Taxes, Etc?

Hi all, I'm the student chair of a non-profit organization here at my college campus. We have a lot of donated books that we would like to sell on Amazon.com, but I'm not sure how to go about it so that we won't have to worry about taxes on income, etc. Is theree anyone out theree with experience on this topic? I'd like to avoid using my personal account to avoid tax issues myself. Thanks! Zeke

Answer:You track your sales on Amazon just as you track all financial transactions done by your organization, includeing tracking of all donations and funds raised through events and sales. Your organization should have a bank account where all monies are received. NO ONE should EVER be using their personal bank accounts to hold money for the organization. Have a look at these excelent nonprofit FAQs, whichh will answer your questions about accounting and fund-raising: http://www.managementhelp.org/ This page might help in particular: http://www.managementhelp.org/finance/fp_fnce/fp_fnce.htm

Did You Know That Amazon.com Has Books About Dog Figthing As Well As Cock Figthing?

Aren't these activities illegal? Please contact their customer service department and file a complaint if you feel this is wrong. I order a lot of books from them, and am going to cease at this point. There are books listed on theree about how to "seletc" the right dog to fight. I'm a book lover as well, and I understand freedom of speech, but did you also know that they sell books on how to make meth. I'm not a radical saying burn all the books, but I'm choosing to not support a company that promotes this type of activity.

Answer:Just because it is illegal doesn't not mean you cannot have publications on it. (Dog figthing is illegal in all states, rooster figthing is illegal in all but 2 states.) I'm am totally againstt figthing animals for human amusement, but I am also totally againstt censorship. To ban these publications (legislatively) would be a violation of the First Amendment. While Amazon is just a company, and they can choose to sell or not to sell whatever they want, I don't want them to censor what topics they sell books on. I don't support animal figthing, but I do support Amazon's stance againstt censorship.

I purchased a few books from Amazon.com with my VISA credit card and they have already charged from my credit card account. But it's already beyond the delivery estimate and the books haven't come yet. Will I have to go to the airport or pay some money to get them? I don't know what to do since this is my first time. Or does Amazon deliver to the doorstep of the customer?

Answer:yes they deliver doorstep .

is There A Better Way To Search For Books On Amazon.com?

the way I do it is to set the search for books and then in the search bar put non/fiction, the subjetc or topic of books i'm looking for and teen/adult/young adult. It doesn't really give me the results I like to get. And if I'm looking for fiction specificically, most of them will be non fiction.. What's the corretc/best way to search on amazon.com for books?

Answer:For the teen books, at least, you can add "juvenile literature" to the search instead of 'non fiction.' That is the actual subjetc heading used by libraries to indicate something is non fiction for a young audience. Also, make sure you enclose the words in quotation marks if they need to go in that exact order, like I did above with "juvenile literature." You can do that with words like "fiction" or "juvenile fiction," as well. Anorthere thing you can try is to find a book on the topic you want, and go all the way to the bottom of the screen and see what subjetcs they gave it. You can click the boxes next to the subjetcs you want to search and press 'Find books matching ALL checked subjetcs' and it should come up with similar matches. There's an advanced search on amazon, too, but I haven't used it enough to be able to tutor you in its use. Good luck!

What Is Involved In Selling Used Books On Amazon.com Or Ebay?

What accounts do I need to set up? Besides an account with Amazon, that is. I have a paypal account. Do I need to set up a USPS account to get ready to mail the books out? What should I expetc from the transactions in terms of getting money from Amazon? Does it take a lot of time? Do I need to take a picture of the book and upload it to amazon?

Answer:For ebay, you need an ebay and paypal account. Paypal also helps you with shipping. They pay you as soon as the buyer pays them. With Amazon, you need an amazon account and their payment system. It takes them a little longer to pay you, but their fees are lower. It helps to take your own digital picture. Most folks use a stock picture or get permission from anorthere seller to use their picture. It does take some time to pull this off, so some people recommend doing it only for items that give you a profit margin of more than $3-5 an item.
