Where Should You Stand on Net Neutrality?

Net Neutrality is one of those names like Pro-Life or Pro-Choice that at first glance seems like you should be for it at first glance.  Teleport back in time to before the debate started and ask George Washington if he his Pro-Life, I bet he will say Yes, ask him 5 minutes later if he is Pro-Choice bet he will say yes to that to.  So if you don’t have time to ask all the questions and read all the documentation here is a simple set of questions to determine if you are for or against Net Neutrality.

Answer True or False to the Following Statements:

  1. I DON’T receive my Internet from a Tier 1 Provider, (Comcast, Verizon, ATT, etc) but rather a smaller local or regional provider.
  2. I use a lot of services that are bandwidth intensive from large sites (Hulu, YouTube, Redtube, MetaCafe, CBS.com, ABC.com).
  3. I visit a lot of  sites in other countries or languages.
  4. I use NetFlix OnDemand, CinemaNow, PSN, or Xbox Live Video Market Place to watch Movies and Television on a Set Top Box, or Game Console.
  5. I DON’T use BitTorrent and other P2P services for File Sharing.
  6. I DON’T use Skype, or another VoIP service not provided by my Internet Service Provider
  7. I play a lot of video games on Xbox Live, WoW, or another major online community and would pay extra to have a lower Ping time and fewer dropped packets.
  8. I generally feel that Government Regulation Improves the things it Regulates.
  9. My Current Internet connection is faster than 20 Megabits Per Second.
  10. I primarily use my Internet connection for e-mail, facebook, stocks, and other text only services.

If answer 1 is True score 1 point for each "True" response to questions 2 through 6.

If answer 1 is False score 1 point for each "False" response to questions 2 through 6.

If answer 7 is True score 1 point.

If answer 8 is False score 1 point.

If answer 9 is True score 1 point.

If answer 10 is True likely you won’t notice one way or the other.

Tally your score.  Remember while there were 10 questions you are only scoring out of 8.

5 or more means you should be against Net Neutrality, 3 or less means you should be for Net Neutrality.  a score of 4 means I can’t help you decide.
